I’ve been teaching IGCSE History for eight years, with most of my tutoring centred on exam technique and source questions. I enjoy helping students move beyond simply remembering events and start thinking about why they happened. We work regularly with past papers, especially questions involving provenance, usefulness and historical interpretations, so students know exactly what an examiner is looking for.

Hi! I’ve tutored IGCSE History for five years and have always enjoyed the storytelling side of the subject. I’m especially interested in twentieth-century history, but my lessons follow the topics each student is studying. I use timelines when the chronology gets confusing, then we move onto sources and exam questions. Essay planning is also a big part of my sessions, particularly before mocks.

My experience with IGCSE History spans nine years of classroom and private teaching. A large part of my work involves helping students improve extended responses, particularly when they know the content but struggle to develop an argument. I teach students to select evidence carefully, explain its significance and keep each paragraph relevant to the question rather than writing everything they remember.
